When is radiation therapy not an option?

Radiation therapy is not an option in the following circumstances:

  • If you are pregnant

  • If you have a connective tissue disease, like lupus or vasculitis, which can make you hypersensitive to the side-effects of radiation

  • If you have already had radiation in that area of the body

  • If you are unwilling or unable to commit to a daily schedule of radiation therapy
