 Breast Cancer

Mammograms and Risk

Can mammograms cause cancer?

No. On the contrary, mammograms are a valuable tool for detecting breast cancer early, when it is most curable. A mammogram can detect a tumor as tiny as a pinhead -- which is up to 2 years before you or your physician can feel it!

The amount of radiation during your mammogram is minimal. Therefore, the benefits of a screening mammogram far outweigh any associated risks.
