Frequency of Getting a Mammogram  

How often should I get a mammogram?

Women over 40 should get a mammogram every year. But, women who have had breast cancer or breast problems, or have a strong family history of breast or ovarian cancer, or who have had radiation treatment to the chest in the past, may need to have mammograms more often.
