Stage 0 carcinoma (breast cancer) in situ is non-invasive, meaning that it is contained within the ducts or lobules in the breast and has not spread to the surrounding tissue. .
There are two possible tissue locations of this early type of breast cancer, called ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) and obular carcinoma in situ (LCIS). DCIS and LCIS represent about 15% to 20% of all cases of breast cancer.
