Abscess of the Breast  

What is a breast abscess?

An abscess of the breast is an accumulation of pus in the breast, nipple, or areola (circular, colored area of skin around the nipple. Abscesses are due to an infection in the tissue.

Symptoms of abscesses of the breast may include:

• Swollen appearance
• Inflamed appearance
