Duct ectasia is a benign (non-cancerous) condition in which widening of the ducts in the breast occur.[1] Many cases of duct ectasia are caused by the inflammation present in periductal mastitis.
Symptoms of duct ectasia may include:[1]
• Lump that can be felt
• Discharge from the nipple
• Turning inward (i.e., retraction or inversion) of the nipple
