The advantage of eating flaxseed over flaxseed oil is that flaxseed is a complete food, providing you with the benefits of Omega 3, 6 & 9 essential fatty acids (EFAs), fiber, protein, amino acids, plant lignans (i.e., phytoestrogens that have anti-cancer activity), vitamins, and minerals.
On the other hand, flaxseed oil contains EFAs, but not the fiber, proteins, or plant lignans. |
