MDR

What is MDR?

MDR is an acronym (abbreviation using initials) for multidrug resistance, which is the resistance of cancer cells to the toxic effects of (i.e., the multiplication of the cancer cells is not affected by) several chemotherapy drugs after the patient has been treated with only one chemotherapy drug. Only some cancer patients treated with chemotherapy develop MDR.
