• Glandular tissue, which is involved in production and secretion of milk
• Stromal tissue, which functions as supporting tissue
• Lymphatic and immune system tissues, which remove cellular fluids, waste products of cells, and microbes
Glandular structures of the breast consist of:
• Lobules, the glands which produce milk
• Ducts, which are the tubes through which milk passes from the lobules to the nipple)
Stromal tissue of the breast includes:
• Fat tissue
• Fibrous connective tissue
• The external portion of the nipple
