A radiologist is a doctor who specializes in imaging procedures for diagnosis and monitoring. If additional x-rays, such as bone scans or chest films, are needed during your diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, a radiologist will be involved.
Radiologists are responsible for the following functions:
• Supervision of radiology procedures
• Interpreting the results of radiology procedures for imaging and diagnosis
• Treating patients for any side effects that may occur from radiology procedures involving contrast media (such as contrast dye)
