Nipple discharge is fluid (clear, milky, grey, tan, bloody, or green) that is released by the nipple.
Nipple discharge can occur due to several causes, including:
• Lactation (i.e., production of milk)
• Infection in the breast
• Inflammation of the breast
• Other benign (non-cancerous) conditions (such as fibrocystic disease) of the breast
• Breast cancer
If you are concerned that you are experiencing nipple discharge, consult your doctor for a diagnosis to determine the cause and receive appropriate treatment. |
