Aneuploid cancers contain cells that have more or fewer than the normal number of chromosomes. In contrast, cancers with the normal number of chromosomes are termed diploid cancers.
Aneuploid cancers are more likely to spread in the body than are diploid cancers. Approximately 66% of breast cancers contain aneuploid cells.
